2013 is going to be a good year for me! Well at least that is the mentality I have. I guess we have to wait until 12/31/13 to find out if that will be the case, however, I am going to do everything in my power to make it that way.
Resolutions are not always the best for me. I make them, sometimes I write them down, sometimes I don't, but I never seem to keep them. So this year I am making both Resolutions and goals to get me there.
Resolution #1:
Lose 75 pounds this year.
75 pounds might seem like a lot but I need to do it. I was going to put 100 pounds but I think that is a little unrealistic. I know that in the past my body has a tendency to hold on to weight and I can go months without losing anything. My measurements change, but my weight does not. My husband wants to have weight loss surgery this year and that really scares me. He feels like it is his only options, but really I think he is using it as a quick fix. Don't get me wrong I support him in everything that he does, including this, I just don't like the way he is making the decision. He is pressuring me to get the surgery as well and it is not something that I want to do. So I made him a deal that if after 3 months the weight wasn't coming off, I would consider the surgery for myself.
So that brings us to
Goal #1: Lose an average of 2 pounds per week.
Goal #2: The constant eating out has to stop. No more than 5 times in the month.
Goal #3: Plan my meals every day, not just work days.
Goal #4: Workout 6 days per week. I would say gym 6 days per week but that wont be possible, but there are somethings I can do at home or at work.
Resolution #2:Run or walk (or both) at least 2 5K's and a half-marathon this year. This has always been something that I wanted to do growing up and this will lead to my ultimate dream - Ironman.
Goal #5:See resolution #1..although this is not a requirement for this to get done, it will certainly help quite a bit.
Goal #6: See Goal #4...again, although this is not a requirement it will certainly help tremendously.
Goal #7: Work on mileage each month, more mileage, less time. Establish a PR early in January and track the progress.
Goal #8: Find the races. I know the half will be the Disneyland Half in September (but I also want to do the Dumbo Dare, which is the 10K the day before). I don't think I can do the 5K, 10K and Half all in one weekend so I will need at least 2 5K's. Thinking about the Primo's run in Danville, and the Pleasant Hill 4th of July 5k. Look into some local races.
Resolution #3: All bills caught up and current by 12/31/13.
Goal #9: See goal #2, this should help with keeping some money in the wallet to help with expenses.
Goal #10: See goal #3, planning will help me to keep from overspending.
Goal #11: Get bills organized and ordered so I know what is due when. Make a plan for overtime and how that will help
Goal #12: ??????
Resolution #4: Work on a 50% retention with all trainees.
Goal #13: Changes to the program to make it work better.
Goal #14: Work with the training officers to make the program something they can work with.
Goal #15: Good training instructors
Goal #16: Good communication with the instructor and CTO's.
Resolution #5: Travel
Goal #17: Travel more. Take at least 1 weekend to travel away from home.
Resolution #6: Be FEARLESS!
